Weddings

For many years, Galwiji Homestead has been thriving as a holiday accommodation. But now, for the first time since owner Malcolm’s marriage to Rosie 22 years ago, we’ve come full circle to again host weddings.

Galwiji Homestead Weddings

We can cover everything from the most intimate family gathering to the biggest country shindig. With a stunning tranquil garden with abundant birdlife, a 25 square heritage homestead and on-site accommodation, Galwiji is perfect for weddings.

Galwiji is your blank slate – what your wedding will look like is only limited by your imagination. And you’ll find our prices very reasonable indeed.

Here are two recent reviews from couples who looked to Galwiji to host their weddings:

“Choosing Galwiji for our 16 April 2016 wedding was the best decision we could have made. The property is absolutely beautiful (perfect blank canvas), the homestead is exactly right for large groups, and no one could be more helpful and accommodating than the Pryors. Practically speaking, our wedding was everything we wanted – plenty of room for our marquee, free rein to decorate as we wished, no worries about playing loud music into the wee hours, homestead for the kids to chill out in when it all got too much, and only a short drive from Buninyong and all its amenities. All our guests had a terrific time, with several already planning return visits as regular farmstay guests. We consider it a privilege, an honour, and a great omen for our future that we could be married at this much loved family farm. We cannot thank Dr. Bill, Ann, Malcolm, Rosie and the staff enough for helping give us one of the best days of our lives.”

“Galwiji is a wonderful property rooted in family humbleness and country beauty. After months of searching for a wedding venue, we finally found our idyllic Homestead to get married at and create our ideal setting.

The Pryor family, even though at the time they hadn’t had a wedding at Galwiji in over 20 years, agreed to lease us their century-old property.

We will never forget the kindness the entire family and staff have shown us. We started preparing the grounds a week earlier and they were there from the beginning, ensuring their best to make sure our day would be more than special. They organised a gardener to look after the gardens, CFA representative to ensure there were no issues on the day, mowed the grass for our ceremony spot and our marquee to make sure our summer wedding would be perfect.

The house itself is fantastic. There’s plenty of room to sleep and a massive rumpus room for table tennis, music and games. Our family and friends loved staying there, especially the tree farm which you must visit early in the morning. It has lots of wildlife and birds.”

  • The owners live close by so it was especially thoughtful that they had a fire going for us (it was cold!) and had left lights on (given we arrived in the dark). The number of bedrooms (5) was great. The house was very suitable for a young family overall.
